About Bits and Balance

Bits and Balance is a mod focused on new features, game-balance, and smoother gameplay. Some features include: Enemies scaling in difficulty as you delve deeper into the world, allowing players to change stances such as sitting, crawling, and stance toggling. New blocks such as Steps and Vertical Slabs with mixing capability for tons of new building possibilities! Combat is lightly refined with anti one-shot protection and snowballs freezing enemies. Numerous quality-of-life features such as double door opening, speedy ladders, and instant shield blocking. The mod also adds new potions and several client-side improvements. Too many things to mention.
This mod will be expanding over time - adding new features within the world, more potions, recipes, and compatibility between other mods.

Blocks & World Generation
- Azalea Woodset - Adds azalea wood blocks and lets azalea trees grow azalea logs instead of oak.
- Dog Music Disc - Adds C418's Dog as a music disc found in chests or dropped by creepers.
- Coal Veins - Adds large coal veins in andesite and tuff.
- Coal + Andesite - Coal veins in shallow andesite.
- Coal + Tuff - Coal veins deep underground, with occasional coal blocks.
- Nether Gold Veins - Adds large Nether gold veins with the occasional raw gold block.
- Nether Quartz Veins - Adds large Nether quartz veins.
- Block of Raw Quartz - A craftable quartz block that also appears in Nether quartz veins.
- Kiln - Smelts clay, glass, stone, and similar materials twice as fast as a furnace.
- Ore Variants - Ores blend into andesite, diorite, granite, and tuff. Create zinc is supported too.
- Steps - Adds small horizontal quarter blocks that can be combined.
- Vertical Slabs - Self explanatory.
- Vertical Steps - Adds small vertical quarter blocks that can be combined.
- Nether Lava Spring Suppression - Optionally reduces random lava springs in newly generated Nether terrain.
Client-Side Features
- Auto Walk - Press a key to keep walking.
- Biome-Tinted Foliage Items - Foliage items show their biome colors in your hand and inventory.
- Biome Titles - Shows a title when you enter a biome.
- Chat Heads - Shows player heads next to chat messages.
- Custom Splash Text - Adds new splash text to the title screen.
- Elder Guardian Appearance Suppression - Hides the Elder Guardian jumpscare when it gives you Mining Fatigue.
- Leaf Litter Biome Tint - Leaf litter and leaf piles take on the colors of their biome.
- Level 30 Old Sound - Brings back the old level-up sound at level 30.
- Log Filtering - Hides selected worldgen errors from the client log.
- Night Vision Fade - Makes Night Vision fade smoothly.
- Recovery Compass - Shows the distance and coordinates of your last death.
- Screenshots to Clipboard - Copies screenshots to your clipboard as soon as you take them.
- See Held Item When Riding - Keeps your held item visible in first person while riding.
- Soul Fire Visuals - Shows blue flames when you're burning from soul fire and on eligible candles.
- Suppress Experimental Settings Warning - Hides the experimental settings warning on worlds.
- Usage Ticker - Shows a progress bar while you use a held item.
Combat Features
- Arrow Priority - Hold R to choose which type of arrow your Bow or Crossbow uses. Your choice is saved to that weapon and can be shown beside the hotbar.
- Maintain Experience - Keep more of your XP when you die.
- Second Chance - Helps you survive hits that would otherwise kill you in one blow.
- Snowball Rework - Snowballs deal damage and freeze targets, with increased damage to Nether mobs.
- Source Dependent Invulnerability Frames - Lets different damage types hit during the usual damage cooldown.
Enchantments
- Aerodynamic - An Elytra enchantment that reduces drag at high altitudes. Rarely found in End Cities.
- Cascading - Mines connected ores one at a time. Sneak to mine just one block. Rarely found in Mineshafts, Strongholds, and Dungeons.
Potions & Effects
- Glow Goo - Throw a glowing blob to place a small light source on surfaces, even underwater.
- Glowing Potion - Lets you brew potions that give the Glowing effect.
- Bioluminescence Potion - Lets you brew potions that make you emit light.
- Displacement Potion - Teleports you to a random spot nearby.
- Haste Potion - Lets you brew Haste potions.
- Levitation Potion - Lets you brew Levitation potions.
- Resurfacing Potion - Teleports you to the surface.
- Returning Potion - Teleports you to your latest death location.
- Withering Potion - Lets you brew potions that give the Wither effect.
Loot Table Modifications
- Custom Loot Tables - Adds our potions to structure chests.
- Mineshafts - Can contain Resurfacing, Returning, and Haste potions.
- Strongholds - Can contain Resurfacing and Returning potions.
- Ancient Cities - Can contain Resurfacing and Returning potions.
- End Cities - Can contain Returning potions.
- Simple Dungeons - Can contain all teleportation potions.
- Trial Chambers - Can contain all teleportation potions.
