Mod add more 'vanilla-style' food
Small Wiki:
- The Root can be obtained by right-clicking the sword on the root block
- Lichen is extracted from lichen in mines
Strider Meat is extracted from strider. 
Frog Leg is extracted from frog.
Bat Wing is extracted from Bat. 
Turnip is extracted from Pitcher Crop.
Sniffer Meat is extracted from Sniffer. 
Mysterious Medicine give +1 heart. You can find this in deepslate structures!
