About Peaceful Mobs Unless Povoked
From ModrinthHostile mobs ignore players unless attacked — make survival calmer without removing danger.
🌟 Peaceful Unless Provoked
Tired of every zombie, skeleton, or creeper rushing you the second they see you? Hostile mobs will leave you alone until you hit them. Then they fight back for a little while, and calm down again if you leave them alone.
You can walk around, build, and farm without getting swarmed. Pick a fight and they'll still hit back.
⚔️ How it Works
👀 They won't come after you on their own.
💢 Hit a mob and it stays mad for 20 seconds.
⏳ When that runs out, it stops chasing you.
❌ The Ender Dragon, the Wither, and the Warden always fight. This mod doesn't touch them.
😠 Neutral mobs like endermen and piglins also drop their anger once they've calmed down.
🎮 Good if you want
Survival, but without something chewing on you every time you step outside.
Time to build in survival without mobs walking into the house.
A server where mobs are chill unless somebody starts it.
⚙️ Config
The game writes config/peacefulunlessprovoked-common.toml. Leave it alone and the mod works the way described above.
enabled turns the whole thing on or off. It's on by default. Off means vanilla mobs.
provokeDuration is how long they stay mad, in ticks. 400 is 20 seconds.
excludedMobs is the list of mobs that always fight. It starts as the ender dragon, the wither, and the warden. Add an id if another mob should always attack, or remove one if you want that mob to stay calm until you hit it.
clearTarget is on by default. A calm hostile won't keep you as its target.
clearNeutralAnger is on by default. A calm neutral mob loses its anger.
📝 Compatibility
Works in singleplayer and on servers.
Pick the jar that matches your loader and Minecraft version:
- Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge or Fabric
- Minecraft 1.21.11 on NeoForge or Fabric
- Minecraft 26.3 on NeoForge or Fabric
The 1.21.1 NeoForge jar was checked on NeoForge 21.1.206. The 26.3 NeoForge jar is built for the current NeoForge beta, so use that one only if you're already on that beta.
If you also have Naturalist, its mean animals follow the same rule on 1.21.1 (Naturalist 2.0.4) and 26.3 (Naturalist 2.0.5). Alligators, lions, sharks, and the rest of that bunch won't come after you until you hit them. Bears, boars, snakes, and the other neutral ones lose their anger when they calm down. Naturalist doesn't have a 1.21.11 release, so that pair of jars is vanilla mobs only. No Naturalist installed? Nothing extra happens.
