It draws out when you open it and stows when you close it.</p> <p style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.65; margin: 0 0 12px 0;">The paper is the game's own. Rather than ship a page texture, the book reads its tones out of the parchment the game already uses, finding the writing surface by brightness so the ruled lines and the dark edge band fall away on their own. A retexture pack carries straight through without anything here changing. The tones are dealt out rather than tiled, because a repeat you can spot across a spread is worse than no texture at all.</p> <p style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.65; margin: 0 0 12px 0;">The light is the light actually reaching you. Drawing the book needs an offscreen render pass. Leather in eleven colours, dyed cloth in eleven, and wool. Each is drawn as the real item, the way the handbook draws it, and each wears the texture the item itself declares, so a cover and the hide it was cut from can never drift apart.</p> <p style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.65; margin: 0 0 12px 0;">Nothing new ships to make this work. The materials are read out of the game at runtime, the same as the parchment.
