Crucible Furnace

<p>This mod aims to implement the crucible steel process developed in the 1740s by Benjamin Huntsman. <br />This process allows for the smelting and casting of steel using steel/blister steel bits and ingots.<br /><br />While beyond the time setting of Vintage Story, I feel the actual materials and processes needed to complete the firing process are within the game specific lore setting.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This mod adds 5 components necessary to complete the crucible steel process.<br />Raw Crucible Lid<br />Crucible Lid<br />Sealed Crucible<br />Crucible Furnace Door<br />Crucible Furnace Multi-block Structure</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <div class="spoiler"> <div class="spoiler-toggle">Raw Crucible Lid / Crucible Lid</div> <div class="spoiler-text">Formed using clay forming. Only fireclay can be used. <br />Fires into a crucible lid. <br />The crucible lid is used to create the sealed crucible.</div> </div> <div class="spoiler"> <div class="spoiler-toggle">Sealed Crucible</div> <div class="spoiler-text"> <p>Only a fireclay crucible can withstand the high temperatures necessary to smelt steel.<br />The crucible needs to be buried in coke, so it must be sealed with a lid.<br />To create a sealed crucible, place an empty fireclay crucible on the ground and right click it with steel or blister steel bits or ingots. Up to 600 units of steel can be added. If using blister steel, you will also need to add one of the following flux materials:<br />1x Powdered Borax<br />3x Crushed Quartz<br />6x Lime</p> <p>To reclaim any materials, simply break the crucible.</p> <p>Once the desired amount of steel (and flux material) is added, right click the crucible with a crucible lid. A sealed crucible is created.</p> </div> </div> <div class="spoiler"> <div class="spoiler-toggle">Crucible Furnace Door</div> <div class="spoiler-text">A hatch is needed to access the burn pit of the crucible furnace.
