Reclamation

<p>This mod allows some of the material used to create tools to be reclaimed and recycled, plus a small selection of other items. Tool materials are reclaimed by combining them with a specific tool in the crafting grid, usually (but not always) a chisel.</p> <p>- <strong>Flint tools</strong> yield <strong>flint shards</strong>, a newly added item, when reclaimed. They cannot be used to make new tools, but they can be heated and converted to calcined flint.</p> <p>- Other<strong> stone tools</strong> can yield <strong>crushed stone</strong> when reclaimed, but only if the <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/stoneworks">Stoneworks</a> mod is also installed.</p> <p>- <strong>Metal tools</strong> yield <strong>metal bits</strong> when reclaimed. This is balanced to normally return about 60% of the metal that it cost to cast or smith the tool in the first place. (This mod does not add a use for steel bits, which currently have no use in the base game.)</p> <p>- <strong>Bone arrows</strong> (and some other bone items) can be reduced to<strong> bone shards</strong> with a hammer, which can be turned into bonemeal with a quern.</p> <p>- <strong>Wood tools</strong> and some wood items yield <strong>wood chips</strong>. Some<strong> bamboo items</strong> yield <strong>bamboo chips</strong>. Wood chips and bamboo chips can each be processed into pulp by differing methods, and the pulp can be used for papermaking.</p> <p>- The mod does <em>not</em> add glass shards or pottery sherds, but maybe it will in a future update?</p> <p>- Compatibility with tools and weapons added by the <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/obsidiancraft">Obsidiancraft</a> (1.6.1, compatibility with 2.0.0 soon), <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/resingluetools">Reinforced Tools</a>, and <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/warscythe">War Scythe</a> mods.</p> <p>I would personally love to see a more holistic item dismantling mechanic implemented in the base game, since the options realistically achievable with a mod feel a little bit limited and incomplete, but hopefully this is mod is better than no dismantling at all.</p>
