Fancy glass bottles and glassware for your bar

Bottoms Up!

Description

I was playing on my server with some friends, and I built a tavern. As I decorated it, I quickly found that there wasn't much to add other than some cups and jugs. The bar was pretty bland. So I made this. It adds some glass bottles of various shapes and sizes. They can be made from any glass color, and can be finished with one of several different metals to customize the cap and label.

This mod uses Glassmaking for crafting the bottles. It also adds a few recipes for creating the glass blends from Glassmaking, since no recipes exist by default that I'm aware of. Note that glassmaking is a pretty end-game endeavor. You won't be making any nice bottles without steel, firebrick, and the semi-rare materials required for some of the embellishment.

Process and tips for bottle-making:

Build yourself a smeltery. Note that the small smeltery provided by Glassmaking doesn't really work right... You'll have to make the large one. Ensure that you've got all four fireboxes installed.

Get yourself a glass blend for whatever color glass you want, either by making the blend from scratch, or from smashing an existing block of glass with a hammer.

Add your blend to the smeltery and heat it up. A single bottle requires 250 units of glass, which is a single item's worth of glass blend. Note that glassmaking requires high temperatures--I think only charcoal or coke will suffice.

Once it's melted, get your glass blower's pipe, press F to select a recipe, and remove the glass. Use your tools and follow the process for the piece you're making. You can find this in the handbook or in the tooltip of the pipe. If you select the wrong recipe, you can craft the pipe with a hammer to reset it. You can also do this with a workpiece on the pipe to get some glass shards back and re-melt them. Note that if a step requires use of the paddle or parchoffi, you'll need to wet them using a bucket of water first.

Once it's done, you'll have to anneal it in the Annealer. Leave it there for a few hours, but make sure the temperature doesn't drop too low!

An annealed bottle can be finished with the appropriate materials.

Fill your bottle and enjoy!

Updates:

v3.1.0

Corked bottles

ACA support

v3.0.0

This is a major breaking change, existing glassware will appear as ? blocks due to new item codes.

Added new trimmed glassware

Added new tiered shelves

Brass as a valid material

Old Updates

v2.0.0

Support for new versions of Glassmaking

Compatibility with Metal Leaf

v1.1.0

Added some glass drinkware: a pint glass, wine glass, rocks glass, shot glass, and highball

Compatibility:

Metal Leaf: Finishing bottles will require use of metal leaf and pitch glue, instead of the normal recipe which uses some tools and metal bits.Trimming glassware will also require metal leaf.

A Culinary Artillery: Bottles are corked with ACA corks.

Future plans:

More bottles

More drinkware

Maybe some more utilitarian things like jars

If you run into any issues, drop a comment here or ping me on the Vintage Story discord. If you've got any cool screenshots using the stuff here, I'd love to see them!
