Creature Footsteps

ABy Aceolu

Gives creatures audible footsteps!

Description

WARNING:

If you have Misophonia or some form of Phonophobia, some sfx from this mod might trigger that.

===========================================================

I found it a little silly that 1.22 only gave footstep sounds to the Wolf and Bear. Luckily the way those were set up allowed me to patch MANY more creatures to have footsteps as well.

This mod gives more creatures footstep sounds, as well as generally increasing the range most of these footsteps can be heard.

Video showcase if the ModDB version doesn't work

Features:

  • Hyenas and Foxes now use the same footstep sounds as wolves
  • All hooved animals have a hoof-like footstep sound
  • Chickens have a sharp stick-ly sounding footstep
  • Hares, and Raccoons have a footstep sound similar to wolves, albeit quieter, and softer sounding, since they are lighter creatures.

In addition, Rust Creatures get their own unique SFX (These are the ones that might trigger Misophonia/Phonophobia)

  • Drifters have a heavy metaltic thud sounding footstep, with occasional metal squeaking.
  • Bowtorn have a dull and hollow metal sounding footstep, with slight hints of cracking sounds.
  • Shivers have a more spindley bone-y sounding, like their bones are cracking with each step. Also with occasional, higher pitched metal squeaking.
  • Locusts have a metal pipe sounding footstep. These sound REALLY uncomfortable in groups when they're chasing you.

Now has (optional) configs! (This requires Config lib <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000000; --darkreader-inline-color: var(--darkreader-text-000000, #e8e6e3); text-decoration: underline;" data-darkreader-inline-color="">or</span></span><span style="color: #000000; --darkreader-inline-color: var(--darkreader-text-000000, #e8e6e3);" data-darkreader-inline-color=""> </span>configkit) ((Do not use both, one or the other.))

BUCKET LIST:

<span style="text-decoration: line-through;">Give Chickens, Raccoons, and Hyenas footstep sounds</span>

<span style="text-decoration: line-through;">Give all rust monsters their own unique footstep sound</span> Done!

If possible, give more varied hoof sounds to all the hoofed mammals (They all use the same sfx as of now, which works, but could be better)

&nbsp;

<span style="text-decoration: line-through;">Support for other mod's creatures is up in the air. I can look into it at some point, but as of right now this mod only effects vanilla creatures.</span>

CHANGELOG:

V1.3.0- THE MOD COMPAT UPDATE! (Wave 1)

-Added compatibility for the following mods:

&nbsp;

-Minor file restructure

-Very minor tweaks to some footstep ranges and volumes

(Fauna of the Stone Age mods will most likely be next, but there are alot of those mods, and they each have alot of entities, so bare with me, it will probably take awhile)

&nbsp;

&nbsp;

V1.2.2-

-Added Chicken footsteps

-Added Raccoon footsteps

-Added Hyena footsteps

(Afaik, this update should cover all vanilla mobs other than humans/traders. Might start looking into other mod compatibility)

&nbsp;

V1.2- Added optional dependancy for ConfigLib- You can now individually toggle the sounds on or off for each rust creature (drifter, bowtorn, shiver, locust).

Just gonna leave it at these for now, but if people want to disable other mobs too for some reason then I'll consider adding config support for those too.

&nbsp;

V.1.1- Made unique footstep audio for each rust monster (Drifter, Bowtorn, and Shiver)

&nbsp;

V.1.0.1- Made the audio files for hooved and vanilla footsteps sliiiiiightly&nbsp;louder (By around 2-3db). Let me know if this is too loud.

Special thanks to Maltiez for creating Config Lib <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">(and also just generally being a goated modder)</span> &lt;-- This didn't age well.

Special thanks to dizzyd for creating configkit
