Earthfed - More Fertilizers

<p>Do you have a bunch of useless feathers sitting around, taking up storage space? Ever wish that there were more fertilizers, especially now that berry bushes can take them? Well then, you may like Earthfed!</p> <p>Earthfed adds 4 new fertilizers currently:</p> <ul> <li>Feathermeal - N:12 P:0 K:0</li> <li>Seaweedmeal - N:2 P:0 K:3</li> <li>Fishmeal - N:8 P:15 K:0</li> <li>Bloodmeal - N:13 P:0 K:0</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>These fertilizers are not as powerful as vanilla fertilizers, and are not intended to replace them. Instead they are designed to be alternatives made from renewable(ish) resources. They are roughly based on real life fertilizers.</p> <p>Have ideas for more realistic fertilzers that don't already exist? Let me know!</p> <h2>How to make the fertilizers</h2> <h3>Feathermeal</h3> <ol> <li>In a pot, cook 1 litre of water + 1 feather + 1 feather + 1 feather to get boiled feathers. This recipe can stack as long as the portions are kept the same.</li> <li>Grind the boiled feathers in a quern to get wet feathermeal.</li> <li>Dry the wet feathermeal (preferrably in an open container) for about 24 hours to get feathermeal.</li> </ol> <h3>Seaweedmeal</h3> <ol> <li>In a quern, grind seaweed to make wet seaweedmeal.</li> <li>Dry the wet seaweedmeal (preferrably in an open container) for about 24 hours to get seaweedmeal.</li> </ol> <h3>Fishmeal</h3> <ol> <li>In a quern, grind whole fish to make wet fishmeal. The amount of fishmeal you get depends on the fish.</li> <li>Dry the wet fishmeal (preferrably in an open container) for about 24 hours to get fishmeal.</li> </ol> <h3>Bloodmeal (only if <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/butchering">Butchering</a> is installed)</h3> <ol> <li>In a pot, cook 1 litre of blood + 1 litre of blood to get blood chunks. This recipe can stack as long as the portions are kept the same.</li> <li>Dry the blood chunks (preferrably in an open container) for about 24 hours to get dried blood chunks.</li> <li>In a quern, grind the dried blood chunks into bloodmeal.</li> </ol> <h2>Compatibility</h2> <ul> <li>If <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/butchering">Butchering</a> is installed, blood can be made into bloodmeal.</li> <li>If <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/expandedfoods">Expanded Foods</a> is installed, wet seaweedmeal is made from mashed seaweed (so you need to grind the seaweed twice).</li> <li>If <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/longtermfood">Long Term Food</a> is installed, seaweedmeal is disabled in favor of seaweed fertilizer from that mod.</li> <li>If <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/wool">Wool &amp; More</a> is installed, feathermeal and fishmeal are disabled in favor of the same fertilizers from that mod.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <div class="spoiler"> <div class="spoiler-toggle">Minutia about fishmeal</div> <div class="spoiler-text"> <p>Fishmeal has an unrealistic amount of phosphorus because bonemeal has an unrealistic amount of phosphorus. It needed to be at least as useful as bonemeal for there to be any reason to make it.</p> <p>Deciding the amount of fishmeal each type of fish gave was a bit of a PITA.
