Tear through the frozen wastes and keep your trade routes open all winter long.

No seraph should be buried in ice and snow to furl sails and go explore. Make yourself a figurehead and plow thru the ice! In the harsh winters of Vintage Story, your sailboat is often sidelined the moment the water turns to ice. Icebreaker changes that, allowing your vessels to punch through ice sheets and navigate frozen lakes, provided you have equipped them for the task.

How it Works

To break ice, your boat requires more than just momentum. It needs a reinforced prow.

1. Craft a Metal Figurehead: Use metal plates and a standard wooden figurehead to craft a reinforced version.
2. Equip your Boat: Attach the Metal Figurehead to your sailboat or raft.
3. Set Sail: As you move, the reinforced figurehead will automatically shatter ice blocks in your path, leaving a clear wake behind you.

Key Features

• Reinforced Prow Mechanic: Ice breaking is only active when a Metal Figurehead is equipped. This gives you a clear progression for upgrading your vessel.
• Standardized Compatibility: Works with the vanilla Sailboat, Raft, and even boats currently under construction.
• Material Tiers: Support for all major metals: Copper, Tin Bronze, Bismuth Bronze, Black Bronze, Iron, Meteoric Iron, and Steel. Cosmetic effect only, all of them are same.
• Variety of Styles: Available for all figurehead types including Bear, Wolf, Skull, and Seamonster.
• Performance Focused: Optimized code ensures the ice breaking logic only runs when necessary, keeping your server running smoothly.

Installation

• Mod Type: Required on both Server and Client.
• VS 1.22+: Use the release built on .NET 10. This will be one click install version.
• VS 1.21.6: Use the release built on .NET 8. Can be downloaded from "Files" tab.
