Description
Immersive Light
Let there be.. darkness?
Immersive Light makes block light stop leaking through solid walls.
Instead of light spreading like there was no walls, blocks now need line of sight back to the light source.

Gimmick
This forces you to be smart about light placement while creating a nice atmosphere.
<span style="font-size: 24pt;">This is not visual only this is real light. Spawn mob / despawn livestock</span><span style="font-size: 24pt;"> logic still runs were this light system can't reach.</span>
<span style="text-decoration: underline;">guys come one you gotta read the description BEFORE installing the mod kek</span>
> Performance <
<span style="font-size: 8pt;">For light sources</span>
The mod only costs performance when light updates, like when placing or breaking a torch or lantern, it doesn't run every frame, normal gameplay isn't affected.
In other words: You can place as many light sources as you want, the mod does the calculation in a blink of an eye in between your click and the placement, it doesn't run every frame for every lantern around you.
Side
This is both a Client and a Server mod, logic runs on both, you can't load this on a server that doesn't have it.
What it does NOT do
This is not path traced lighting.
This is not bounced light.
This is not a shader!!!
This DOES NOT change dynamic lights.
The game still uses its normal block light system. This mod just makes the spreading a bit more complicated.
Safe to use?
Safe to load into existing worlds. BUT you'll need to update all light sources already placed. (break the placed lantern, place it again)
Safe to remove whenever. BUT, light baked in the chunk will behave like the mod was still there until you update the light source.
Debug commands
To learn how to use the commands:
Go to creative>pause menu>commands handbook>type il>select the il commands section
.ildebug rays on turns ray debug on
.ildebug rays off turns ray debug off
.ildebug clear clears the current light
.ildebug legend explains what the colors mean
.ildebug stats shows how many debug lines are currently stored
.ildebug show green off hides a color without clearing it
.ildebug show all on brings everything back
<span style="font-size: 18pt;">! WARNING !</span>
Ray debug can draw a huge amount of colored lines all at once during relight.
This can be visually intense and may trigger seizures or strobe sensitivity.
Do not stare directly into the light source at first.
