Mineral Soup

<p>Also see <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/dietmineralsoup">Mineral Soup (Diet version)</a><br /><br />Panning in vanilla Vintage Story is an arduous task that quickly loses its relevance, despite its potential. This mod is an attempt at fixing that problem, making sure panning stays a viable choice for much longer by altering the panning loot tables. It makes the panning considerably more powerful, but not enough to replace mining in the long run, though it makes it quite easy to get some starter copper/bronze tools without mining (good for large servers with exhausted bronze-grade ores).</p> <p><br /><strong>Sand/gravel</strong> is meant to be bread'n'butter for getting copper and bronze materials (except for silver and gold). It's also abundant in flint for knapping and calcinating (mundane stones have been removed from panning loot to combat bloat). Other than that, it also yields many useful non-metal ores as well as occasionally crystallized ore versions of non-bronze metals. It also has crop and tree seeds, roots, honeycombs and has a chance to give bony soil, making it renewable. There's also a 0.01% chance for an iron meteorite piece.</p> <p><strong>Bony soil</strong> has been somewhat overhauled to yield mostly bones, flax fibers, rot and peat bricks. It also has aged wood, native silver and gold nuggets and rarely a gem. Rest of the loot consists of gears (same rate as vanilla, rusty gear rate modifiable by traits), metal scraps and parts. There's also a decent chance of getting one of 13 different (non-craftable) jonas parts. There's a 0.01% chance for a glider schematic.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Vintage Story uses weighted probability to choose panning loot drops. For the sake of clarity, I've kept the loot table weight sums at combined 100%.<br /><br />Contains no code, only json - should be compatible for a long time, until there's an update that touches <em>pan.json<br /><br /></em></p> <p>Like all my mods, this one <strong>can</strong> be modified and redistributed by anyone without giving any credit.</p>
