Automate your world: chutes, hoses, docks and anchors controlled by signals and paper

Signals Link

Description

Signals Link

Automate your world with signals.

Signals Link adds devices that move items and fluids wherever you need them: chutes through walls, sleeves and hoses across the whole workshop, docks that load boats, elk and trains. What moves, how much and when is decided by signals and by simple rules written on a sheet of paper. Sensors watch your blocks and animals, an igniter lights fires from afar, and a chunk anchor keeps a remote factory running while you are away.

Built on the great Signals mod and created with its author's permission. Thanks to Pfev for his help and advice.

Note that the translations have been made using AI. If you find any mistakes, please let me know.

Sensors

Block sensor - Detects the presence of a block in an adjacent position and, based on the input signal, determines how full its inventory slots are.

Entity sensor - Detects the presence of entities (players, creatures, animals, or monsters) in a marked area and can provide information about their count, type, or state on the outputs.

Transport of items

Managed chute - Enables automated transport of items between various blocks. A variant embedded in wood carries items through a wall without breaking the cellar climate.

Managed damper and Sleeve - Carry items over longer distances and through floors and ceilings. Dampers are connected with sleeves; sleeve couplings extend the line and wall sleeve couplings take it through a wall, in many rock, wood, cobblestone and clay brick variants. A damper can also set its load down on the ground and pick it up again.

Transport of fluids

Managed valve and Hose - Enable automated transport of fluids between fluid-capable blocks, such as barrels or buckets. Comes with a water intake, hose couplings, a drain valve and a ceiling variant, and one valve can take several hoses.

Freight

Freight Dock - A crate that finds what stands next to it, a boat or an elk, and with the Signals Link YTT add-on also a train, and moves goods where its paper tells it to. It can be placed at any angle.

Storage yard - Connected yard tiles (brick, plank or stone path) form one store that the dock works with as a whole. A storage yard sign gives it a name.

Other blocks

Managed igniter - Fires a burst of sparks on a signal and lights whatever it points at, so it can light a firepit without you standing there. Powered by temporal gears.

Chunk Anchor - Keeps a chosen piece of the world loaded so a remote factory keeps working while nobody is around. It pays with temporal gears according to how much it keeps running, can sleep between shifts to save them, and can be switched off by the server admin.

Bottomless Chest and Recycler Chest - Creative-only helpers for testing your automation: an endless source of items and a chest that destroys what arrives.

Paper conditions

All these devices are controlled by conditions written on a sheet of paper: what to move, how much, from which slots and when. One paper can hold several sections, and mistakes on the paper show up right in the block's tooltip.

See the ingame handbook for more info. Every block has its own page with explained examples.

Requires

The Signals mod!

Planned

Autocrafting machine

Signal Clock - Generates a signal based on the time of day.

See also other mods:

Signals Link EP - Signals meets Electrical Progressive

Signals Link YTT - Signals Link meets Yang's Transport Tycoon: docks load and unload trains
