Trading Cards

Description

What it adds:
This mod adds collectable trading cards to the game. Every time a player joins the server, the mod will check to see if their name is on the registry. If it is not, it adds it. Whenever a card is created (by cracking booster packs) it has a random chance to be any name on the registry.

SERVER OWNERS: When updating the mod, make sure you copy the names in your config file before deleting it or the list starts over.

Newest version features:

- Added a new system for the trader: The trader has a system where he collects signed cards and rewards players. To do so, interact with the trader with a signed card in your hand. Select the option to offer it to him for his collection. If he does not have the card he will take it and give you 15 rusty gears. If he already has it, he'll refuse it. If you have a signed foil card he will pay you 30rusty gears.

If you are a server owner and experiencing weird behavior, feel free to hit me up, but also check your tradingcards.json to see if weird duplicate entries have been made for rarity. There is a chance that happens. You can either delete the .json and let a fresh one generate, or you can trim down the duplicate rarity entries.

Booster packs:
Booster packs give players 5 random cards when opened. Additionally, there is a chance for any card to be foil. Booster packs can be obtained by trading with a custom trader added in this mod or they can just be grabbed out of the creative menu, either way booster packs function exactly the same no matter how your players get them.

Signing:
If a player is holding a card of themself they have the option to right-click and sign it. Collect signed cards of all your friends!

Binder:
Cards don't stack, even if they're of the same person, so this is going to quickly screw with your inventory.

You can craft a special binder, which acts exactly like a mining back, only it has 40 slots and only accepts cards. It can be placed just like any other bag.

To craft, simply place four cards in your crafting grid in a 2x2 square.

Displays/shelves/ground storage:
Cards can be placed in display cases, though they tend to clip out of the glass if that matters to you. That's on the list to fix. They'll also fit onto shelves and single cards can be placed on flat surfaces.

Card rarity:
At this time all cards have the same liklihood of being pulled. The more players you have (or names you manually add with /tradingcards add) the rarer each individual card becomes.

As an added rarity, cards have a chance to be foil cards. Currently I don't have a way of visually distinguishing them except for their name (Vykax (foil, signed) for example).

I haven't messed with it myself at the time of writing, but you can theoretically add your own rarities in the config by copying and pasting and changing a couple words and weights.

Trader:
The trader has a system where he collects signed cards and rewards players. To do so, interact with the trader with a signed card in your hand. Select the option to offer it to him for his collection. If he does not have the card he will take it and give you 15 rusty gears. If he already has it, he'll refuse it. If you have a signed foil card he will pay you 30 rusty gears.

You can find what cards the trader has in his collection under tradingcard-collection.json that should generate when you run the new version of the mod for the first time.

I plan on adding a feature where players can referece the list with a command as well as allow admins to manually remove cards from the list.

The trade behavior (specifically the trade menu, not the collection feature) is dictated by the tradelist config in this mod so you can add and remove things as you wish. By default the trader will buy back cards for a single rusty gear regardless of rarity, it treats all cards the same, since they're all essetially the same item just with different attributes.

Compatibility:
I haven't done a ton of itensive testing but I do know that selling cards through CAN Market keeps all the attributes, and I would assume that means it works with any other shop mod.

Planned Features:
- A way for the mod to swap textures based on rarity attributes, such as foil cards being shiny.

- Better displays/storage, I'd like to build a custom display that lets players show off their most valuable cards (even if they aren't visually distinct).

- This is the big one. I really want to add a feature to the trader where he hands out rewards for players (through the dialogue system) when players bring him a signed card hasn't yet been given, with a multiplier added if it is foil. This to me really brings the mod together and has it so that players rush to the stores when new players show up so they can be the first kid on their block to get a signed PooperScooper69100 card and pawn it.

- An audio que for when someone signs a card.

Please note, if you're adding this to an exis
