You've just built a mighty beehive kiln and are excited at the possibilities, a deranged hunger for new ceramics in a vivid <strong><span style="color: #e74c3c;">r</span><span style="color: #e67e23;">a</span><span style="color: #f1c40f;">i</span><span style="color: #2fcc71;">n</span><span style="color: #18bc9b;">b</span><span style="color: #2880b9;">o</span><span style="color: #8e44ad;">w</span></strong> of different hues. But out of the corner of your eye, you see it... an untidy mound of all your old pit-fired pottery! Oh, the horror! Dozens of dull crockpots you'd much rather replace! But what can you do with them except throw them into the sea in the dead of night, or stash them away in a chest as your secret shame?</p> <p>Fret no more. There is hope. There is a solution. There is&nbsp;<em>smashing them with a big hammer</em>.</p> <p>This mod introduces a <strong>ceramic recycling-and-upcycling system</strong> for all those old pots and planters. Use a hammer in the crafting grid (or tip 'em into a pulverizer, if ya nasty) to reduce ceramic items to&nbsp;<strong>potsherds</strong> (big pieces) and&nbsp;<strong>fragments</strong> (little pieces). You can even smash the potsherds into fragments, if you need to. Then use them to create! Enjoy the artistic aesthetic of the&nbsp;<strong>patio tile</strong>, or add a touch of whimsy to your garden with the&nbsp;<strong>pottery path</strong>! Or just grind up the fragments into&nbsp;<strong>grog</strong> (that's powdered ceramic!) to make cheaper bricks.</p> <h3>New Features That Were Added In The Latest Version (v0.7.0)</h3> <ul> <li>Mosaic tiles! If you think that you don't spend enough time chiselling blocks, <em>prepare to be delighted</em>. Turn your pottery fragments into vibrant mosaic tiles, in&nbsp;<strong>eighteen different colors</strong> that will allow you to create ostentatious works of authentic historical pixel art.</li> <li>New recipes! You can now use grog to bulk out your clay supply (8 clay + 1 grog), or use it as a replacement for crushed quartz when making refractory bricks.</li> <li>Mod compatibility for three entire mods! If you use <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/aculinaryartillery" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A Culinary Artillery</a>, <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/fromgoldencombs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">From Golden Combs</a>, and/or <a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/primitivesurvival" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Primitive Survival</a>, then you will now be able to smash the ceramics from those mods with impugnity.</li> </ul> <h3>Features That Were Already Added In Previous Versions</h3> <ul> <li>Potsherds and fragments, created by combining any ceramic item with a hammer in the crafting grid, or tipping them into the pulverizer if you're short on patience.</li> <li>Patio tile (in full-block and slab form) made using&nbsp;potsherds, fragments and&nbsp;mortar. Functional and very aesthetic!</li> <li>Pottery paths, made from&nbsp;potsherds and&nbsp;fragments. No need for mortar, just step on these busted-up pottery pieces.</li> <li>Grog, powdered ceramic, created by putting fragments into a quern. Can be used to make cheaper bricks (3 clay + 1 grog).</li> <li>Lithodipyra! That's "twice-fired stone" by the way, a form of artificial stone perfected in the late 18th century and wildly popular until they found something better. Created using&nbsp;<strong>clay</strong>,&nbsp;<strong>crushed quartz</strong>,&nbsp;<strong>powdered flint</strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>grog</strong> (with&nbsp;<strong>wooden planks</strong> for a temporary mold), it comes in the form of big, chisel-ready blocks in&nbsp;<strong>seven different colors</strong>.
