Armory

Description

<p>This mod prioritizes reducing anvil bloat by using weapon heads and handles that can craft a wide variety of equipment.</p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Most recipes of current and future Historical Armory (non-sword) additions will use currently existing vanilla tool/weapon heads.</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <hr /> <h2><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Additions:</span></strong></h2> <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Weapons:</strong></span></h4> <ul> <li><strong>Short Sword:</strong> Fast, One-Handed</li> <li><strong>Arming Sword:</strong> Balanced, One-Handed</li> <li><strong>Falchion:</strong> Balanced, One-Handed</li> <li><strong>Longsword:</strong> Balanced, Two-Handed</li> <li><strong>Greatsword:</strong> Heavy, Two-Handed</li> <li><strong>War-Axe:</strong> Heavy, Two-Handed</li> <li><strong>Throwing Knives:&nbsp;</strong>Speedy, Throwing Weapon</li> </ul> <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Weapon Parts:</strong></span></h4> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Handles:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><strong>Short Handle:</strong> Used for one handed swords and daggers</li> <li><strong>Medium Handle:</strong> Used for axes, maces, and other similar sized weaponry</li> <li><strong>Long Handle:</strong> Used for two handed and other large weapons</li> <li><strong>Pole Handle:</strong> Used for polearms</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Blade Heads:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><strong>Sword Blade</strong></li> <li><strong>Curved Sword Blade</strong></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Large Sword Blade</strong></span></li> <li><strong>Large Axe Blade</strong></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Massive Sword Blade</strong></span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Throwing Blades</strong></span></li> </ul> <h4><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Blocks</span></strong></h4> <ul> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Subtle Mount: </strong>Displays a weapon in a more humble fashion</span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Hidden Mount:</strong> An invisible weapon mount</span></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <hr /> <h2><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Gameplay:</span></strong></h2> <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Mechanics:</span></h4> <ul> <li><strong>Handedness:</strong> Some weapons can only be used in two hands, requiring the off-hand slot to be empty</li> <li><strong>Minimum Range:&nbsp;</strong>Weapons may have a minimum range at which they can attack. This prevents larger weapons from hitting targets that are two close. Displayed in the attack range stat as (Min Range) - (Max Range) <ul> <li><strong>Note:</strong> You can initiate a swing facing away from a target and swing into them to circumvent this restriction, but this will take practice.&nbsp;</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Better Throwables:</strong> A throwable item class that functions similar to arrows. Rather than having durability, they have a percent chance to break. This allows for them to stack properly&nbsp;</li> </ul> <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Base Game Changes:</span></h4> <ul> <li><strong>Vanilla craftable swords:</strong> To further reduce anvil bloat the vanilla falx blades and iron short sword blade have been removed from the smithing anvil. These blades <strong>can still be crafted</strong> by placing the equivalent blade in the crafting grid and vice versa.</li> <li><strong>Vanilla weapon handles:</strong> Vanilla sword and spears now use the custom handles in their recipes in order to match the other weapons. Stone tier spears still use sticks&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>New attack animations:</strong> Several new attack animations of varying speed. More coming soon!</li> <li><strong>New weapon description:</strong> Reworked the weapon description to display new stats and reorganize existing stats.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <hr /> <h3><strong>Compatability:<br /></strong></h3> <p><a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/56927">Recipe Selector</a> - Recommended for use with addons</p> <p><a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/purposefulstorage">Purposeful Storage</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>You are welcome to create addons or patches for this mod provided the mod contains "(Unofficial)" in the title.</p> <h3><strong>FAQ:</strong></h3> <p><strong>Q:</strong> Is this compatible with Combat Overhaul</p> <p><strong>A:</strong> This mod uses its own combat mechanics and functions independently from CO. A compatibility patch may be set up in the future but it is low priority</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <hr /> <h4><strong>Additional Info:</strong></h4> <p>All models where made using Blender and textured with Blockbench</p> <p>You are welcome to create addons or patches for this mod provided the mod contains "(Unofficial)" in the title.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <div class="spoiler"> <div class="spoiler-toggle">Roadmap</div> <div class="spoiler-text"> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Done:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Set up Core Mod</li> <li>North/South American and African cultures</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>To Do:</strong> (In order of priority)</span></p> <ul> <li>Modular Crafting and Customization Workbenches</li> <li>Expanded Weapon Mechanics</li> <li>Medieval Europe</li> <li>Feudal Japan</li> <li>Gag weapons (example: Fish slapping)</li> <li>Egypt and Arabia</li> <li>Greece and Rome</li> <li>Asian dynasties (China, India, Mongolia)</li> <li>Renaissance</li> <li>Weapons of Myths and Legends</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Feel free to voice your opinion in regards to the order of priority</p> </div> </div> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h4><strong>Current Addons:</strong></h4> <p><a href="https://mods.vintagestory.at/hawarlords" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Armory: Warlords and Warchiefs</a>
