Uranium Expanded (Metals and Tools)

JBy Joulz

Adds uranium based alloys, adds uranium glass, tools and uranium fever.

Uranium Expanded (Metals and Tools)

Description

A standalone mod that adds craftable resources for Uranium. Uranium is a vanilla resource that currently serves no purpose. The intent of this mod is to remedy this.

The mod also adds vanilla friendly lanterns, which possess the same properties and functions the same as the base game lanterns. Purely esthetic. It also adds Uranium plaques.

Uranium Expanded – Uranium Alloys:
Adds two new uranium based alloys :
Ferrous uranium is a pre-carburization metal that can be used inefficently for iron+ tier tools that are very effective, but lack durability.
Ferrous uranium is made with crushed uranium and iron mixed together in a bloomery to get ferrous uranium blooms.

Uranium steel is a steel+ alloy that consists of putting ferrous uranium in a cementation furnace to get blister uranium steel. Once processed, this alloy can be made into slightly stronger versions of steel tools. Meant to be more durable than steel, but not a must have necessarily. It's more of a late game nice-to-have goal. Uranium steel requires a steel anvil to be smithed. Uranium alloys are stable and not radioactive, so they will NOT cause fever!

Uranium Expanded – Uranium Glass:
Adds uranium glass. Uranium glass emits a very faint glow (like really faint) when held or placed. You can also make uranium glass bowls (same functionality as vanilla bowls except they glow). Requires crushing uranium and making a glass mix with quartz, then smelting it in the bloomery.

Uranium Expanded – Ore Spawning:
Adds uranium ore to the world, generating in select rocks like granite, sandstone, shale, limestone, slate, and phyllite. Veins vary in size and richness, with rare surface hints. Uranium is mostly underground at low to mid-level depths, offering a realistic, rewarding resource for adventurous players. Handle with care!

[NEW] Uranium Expanded – Uranium Fever (optional) :
Uranium is powerful, but it is not safe to carry around. Holding radioactive uranium materials in your inventory will slowly build up Uranium Fever, shown with a new HUD bar and character stats entry.

As fever rises, you'll suffer worsening health, but being sick makes you less hungery. At extreme levels, uranium fever can become deadly. Fever will naturally decay over time once you stop carrying radioactive materials.

[NEW] Uranium Expanded – Jonas Geiger Counter :
This item was mainly me experimenting with systems and modeling and making it into an item. I tried making it as vanilla friendly as possible. It serves as an alternative to the prospecting pick. It will scan a players surroundings and when close to ore, it will emit a geiger counter-like sound, with increasing intensity as the player gets closer. It does not provide wallhacks. Players must rely solely on sound queues to locate ore. It is a tool to be used with the prospecting pick, not a cheat, and not meant to replace it. Additionnally, it requires temporal gears to be powered, much like the night-vision helmet. The model also dynamically reflects it's charge level. (see images)
