Rough/cut gems/jewelry and encrusting in the armor/tools with buffs

C&N Jewelry

Description

C&N Jewelry

Rough/cut gems, encrusting armor/tools with buffs, and gem extraction.

A full gem-cutting and socket-encrustment system for Vintage Story. Pan and mine rough gems, cut them at a gem cutting table, grind them on a jewel grinder, and encrust them into the sockets of your armor, tools and weapons — granting stat buffs while equipped. Extract gems from old gear and swap them at will.

Want wearable jewelry — rings, tiaras, necklaces, monocles, earrings and display stands for them? Add the companion mod C&N Jewelry Adornments. This mod is the core system it builds on.

What’s in the mod

  • Gem cutting table - chip a rough gem down to a round, baguette or pear cut, voxel by voxel.
  • Mechanical jewel grinder - connect mechanical power, drop a grindlayer, and refine your cut gems through up to three grinding steps for significantly higher buff values.
  • Socket encrustment - armor, tools and weapons carry sockets by tier; set a cut gem into one and wear the buff.
  • Jeweler’s table - a workstation with its own dialog: drop in an item, rotate its preview, see every socket colour-coded by tier, and slot in the gems that fit.
  • Knapster-style cutting settings - server-side accessibility options for the cutting table, editable in a GUI.
  • Iron & steel pans - pan ore chunks of every metal type to extract rough gems.
  • Wire drawing bench - draw metal wire hanks used in jewelry crafting recipes.
  • Gem extraction - chisel a gem back out of its socket to re-use it or swap it for another. Both the gem and the item have a chance to survive intact.
  • Extra jewelry inventory slots - dedicated character slots for rings, earrings and nose rings, filled by the Adornments companion mod.
  • In-game guide dialog (press J) - color-coded stat tables with per-tier value ranges, socket-tier reference, cut-style comparison, and a full panning drop table by ore type and quality.

Primary stat only.
Highest main-stat after full grinding (~×2.19 of base). Best long-term choice.</td> <td style="background: #3d3214; color: #ffd866; padding: 10px 14px; border: 2px solid #d8a838; vertical-align: top; width: 33%;">Baguette
Primary stat (~×1.99 fully ground) + a random secondary buff from a stat-specific pool. Trades some main-stat power for a bonus stat.</td> <td style="background: #3d2814; color: #ffa550; padding: 10px 14px; border: 2px solid #ee8a3e; vertical-align: top; width: 33%;">Pear
Primary stat only, but front-loaded ×1.7 without grinding. Round overtakes it after full processing — good for un-ground gems.</td> </tr> </tbody> </table>

Cutting accessibility settings

Open the settings dialog with /canjewelry cutting gui (requires the controlserver privilege). Everything is also available as plain commands under /canjewelry cutting.
